2010
Wow. I haven’t updated in a while. I finally hit 100 pounds lost near the end of August 2009. Afterwards I took a break from the very low calorie diet and it tasted good (the holidays were yummy). I tried the diet once again at the beginning of 2010, but didn’t successfully stay on it to lose the weight I wanted. I will do it this year.
When I stopped dieting last (near the end of 2009) I weighed around 225 pounds. Since then I gained some weight back and was at 265.2 pounds again by the beginning of 2011. Wow, how did that happen?! As of today I have lost about 6 pounds in 7 days (yeah that doesn’t make sense so it has to be timing and water weight) and weigh 259.2 pounds. Those first few pounds are the easy ones. They will get harder!
The goal this time around is to be at 200 pounds by the end of the year.
Starting date: 1/10/2011
Starting weight: 265.2
Goal: 200
It has been harding finding the reward system (that helped me before) this time around. Last time I was rewarded with selfish gifts like a new flat panel TV when I lost all the weight. I think knowing that I’ll again fit into the jeans that I bought after losing 100 pounds will be incentive enough.

Again I have neglected posting anything new. Since the last post (4 weeks ago) I have lost 8 pounds. That makes for an average of 2 pounds per week. Yay! Still on track. I have about 12 more pounds left before the big 1-0-0. Can’t wait. Hopefully in the next 5-6 weeks I can eclipse that mark and then set a new goal for losing even more weight.

I haven’t posted in quite a while (this makes the 5th week). Last five weeks of weight loss: 13.2 pounds. On average that is about 2.6 pounds per week. This is fantastic because we were at Disney World for one of those weeks, and I actually lost about a pound while there. Walking 6 miles a day helps you to eat almost whatever you want. Even a Very Berry Sundae from Ghiradelli is allowed when you walk that much. I did mainly snack on fruits while there (strawberries, grapes, and pineapple) instead of other less healthy alternatives.

Finally back to adding more content to the blog. I suck at keeping things updated (except the weekly weigh-in). Lunch is usually a great part of the day. First of all it means that there is usually a break from work involved. No matter how much you like your job, this is necessary. The other thing that makes lunchtime so great is that it’s time to EAT! I have been keeping my breakfast calories less than 250. Lunch will be slightly higher and will usually top out at 500 calories.
Here is Meal #1:
(1 Microwaveable Bowl) Healthy Choice – Chicken and Rice Soup (150 calories)
(1 whole) Apple (90 calories)
(15 pieces) Quaker Rice Snacks – Cheddar Cheese (117)
Total: 357

Review: This is a lunch that I have most often. Keep in mind that convenience can be key to keeping up the routine of healthy meals. This is why i choose the Microwaveable bowl for the soup. You could also substitute the soup for either Healthy Choice Chicken Noodle (150 calories) or Healthy Choice Country Vegetable (160 calories). They all taste great to me.
I specified whole apple above because for me the time it takes to eat an apple that isn’t cut helps to keep down the food cravings. People often overeat because they have eaten too fast, and their body isn’t ready to tell them they are full. The longer it takes to eat the meal the better (as long as it’s not hours, that would just be weird). My favorite apples are Fuji and Cameo. Both are fairly sweet and crisp. Who knew there were so many types of apples!
Quaker also has Rice Snacks that are flavored with Ranch, Caramel, and even Chocolate. They are definitely way better than they sound. I love these things. I would consider them my substitute for potato chips.

This week: 3.2 pounds. I guess cutting the grass constitutes a good workout as long as you don’t have a riding lawnmower. We also bought a Wii Fit so I hope to talk more about that later. It seems cool so far. Please remember to keep your blinds closed when using the Wii Fit. The hula hoop game is pretty awkward looking.

So I lost 7 pounds last week? I don’t think so! This must have been a catch up week for the past two weeks with lower numbers. One’s body can do strange things. I even ate at Wendy’s and had a pretty sizeable Easter lunch. Yay! Back on track.
